TMC Power Equipment Introduces the KPW4500V Line Trimmer & Brush Cutter

MONTEREY PARK, CA — TMC Power Equipment, Inc. announces the release of the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 line trimmer and brush cutter. Available now at authorized TMC dealers and distributors at a suggested retail price of $499.95 for the KPW4500V and $529.95 for the KPW4500V-50, both models incorporate a heavy duty 45.4cc Kawasaki® two-cycle engine mated to an 8mm solid steel drive shaft and heavy-duty gear head.

“The KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 are the biggest line trimmers and brush cutters ever introduced by TMC,” said Dean Kanemitsu, president of TMC Power Equipment. “These models are the result of direct requests from TMC customers for line trimmers and brush cutters that incorporate a larger displacement engine. As municipalities and fire departments are increasing their diligence in enforcing weed and brush clearing regulations due to recent devastating wildfires, TMC customers are finding that larger and more heavy-duty equipment is necessary to sufficiently handle the heavy workload. The KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 extend the TMC offerings of high-quality, high-performance line trimmers and brush cutters to meet this need.”

The 45.4cc two-cycle Kawasaki engine on the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 incorporates a dual ringed piston, forged iron crankshaft, and four bolt, chrome plated cylinder. The advanced stratified engine design reduces the amount of unburned fuel from reaching the exhaust port, allowing it to not only meet CARB Tier III and EPA Phase 2 standard but also improving fuel efficiency by up to 25% over previous models. The true two-cycle design of the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 reduces the number of parts used in the engine’s design and maintains the advantages of light weight, fast throttle response, high torque and all-position operation.

The shaft assembly on the KPW4500Vand KPW4500V-50 incorporates a dual-splined 8mm solid steel drive shaft encased in an high strength aluminum housing and supported by multiple bushings to reduce vibration. Power is delivered to the work surface via a heavy-duty gear head assembly consisting of oversized forged iron gears and four bearings. Other components on the shaft assembly include a cast aluminum clutch housing with a rubber vibration damper insert, a metal engine stand, metal handles and a cast aluminum handle mount.

The KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 are compliant with ISO safety standards. The looped metal handle on the KPW4500V and the bicycle style handles on the KPW4500V-50 meet ISO standard 11806 while the debris shield meets ISO standard 7918 for both a cutting head and blade. Additionally, the double shoulder harness meets the ISO 11806 standard.

“All of the heavy-duty components integrated into the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50, from the engine down to the cutting head are designed for high-stress applications,” adds Dean Kanemitsu. “With the combination of these components together with the ISO compliant components, the easy serviceability of TMC designs, and the parts interchangeability of the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 with other 8mm shafted TMC line trimmers, the KPW4500V and KPW4500V-50 offer a tremendous value to both TMC dealers and end-users.”
